Boar Training:
In this area we will share with you what we know and have found about AI in reference to training the boar and then checking the sperm from the boar. The number on thing you should know about training the boar and taking sperm:
Sperm Collection:
A Surin Farm we have a portion of one barn set aside just for the boars and for sperm collection and storage. Within this area we have a space set up for the boar to give sperm. When moved to this area the boar knows what is expected of him. We also have a "viewing" area with a smaller dummy sow that is used for training young boars. From this area the young boars can watch the older boar and learn from him.
Sperm Testing / Storage:
A Surin Farm we maintain a clean room that is used for sperm evaluation, storage and disbursement to the customer.
